Rockstar just put six GTA 6 radio stations online for you to preview, and confirmed a series first: on-demand podcasts.

GTA 6's radio stations are official: on October 8, Rockstar added roughly two-minute previews of six stations (Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM and Dirty South Classics) to its music page. The bigger change isn't a song, though: for the first time, Jason and Lucia can listen to radio and podcasts on foot through earbuds paired to their phones.

Rockstar is promising "the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet," spanning "everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio." Here's the lineup so far, with hosts as Rockstar credits them and the real-world identities reported by CharlieIntel and picked up by Dexerto and VICE.

*Rockstar's page only gives first names or nicknames. The last column comes from CharlieIntel (via Dexerto) and, for several names, VICE. Highly plausible, but Rockstar hasn't spelled them out.

How to listen to the GTA 6 radio preview right now

  1. Head to Rockstar's official music page: rockstargames.com/VI/music.
  2. Scroll to "Broadcasting Live Across Leonida."
  3. Pick a station and hit "Preview Station."
  4. Each clip runs about two minutes, with idents, DJ chatter and snippets of tracks.

According to VGTimes, the clips include Slayer's "Raining Blood" on The Chamber, MGMT's "Electric Feel" on Flash FM and David Banner's "Like A Pimp" on Dirty South Classics. Easiest move: go listen yourself. It's free and official.

On-foot listening and podcasts change more than you think

In GTA V, the music died the second you stepped out of a car. GTA 6 changes that in two confirmed ways:

  • Headphones and earbuds: new in-game audio gear connected to Jason's and Lucia's phones lets you listen to radio and podcasts away from vehicles.
  • On-demand podcasts: a first for the series. Older GTA talk stations ran on a loop; here you'll pick individual episodes. No shows have been named yet.

It sounds minor until you picture it: hiking the Grassrivers, swimming off the Keys or cruising Vice City at night, with your own soundtrack running the whole time. It also fits everything Rockstar has shown, where the phone sits at the center of Jason and Lucia's lives.

GTA 6 songs list so far: The Album's six singles

Separately from the stations, Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album lands November 19, the same day the game hits PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with 34 original tracks inspired by Vice City and Leonida. Six singles are already streaming:

What's still unconfirmed

  • Total station count: these six are only part of the dial. Rockstar's page also mentions classic rock and talk radio, and coverage points to dance, electronic and blues too.
  • The dynamic score: Rockstar says more is coming on the music that plays during missions.
  • Full playlists: the previews are only a taste.

Our take

Flash FM coming back is pure Vice City fan service, and it works. But Cocoteo FM and AfroBank FM tell us more about the game: this isn't a neon '80s postcard of Miami, it's modern Florida, Latin and Caribbean and plugged into global sounds. If the reported hosts hold up, Bad Bunny and Burna Boy behind the mic would be the most star-heavy radio cast any game has had. One gripe: six weeks out, we'd love the name of a single podcast. Talk radio is where GTA's satire has always hit hardest, and that's the part we're most curious about.
